Din Tai Fung - How Soup Dumplings Are Made

Din Tai Fung, one of our long-time clients, partnered with Tasty to put together a video short on the process of how to make, Xiao Long Bao, also known as soup dumplings. Xiao Long Bao is special because there’s soup inside each dumpling which makes them so hard to make. Each dumpling is made by hand and there’s an art behind how to perfect it that takes years for many chefs to master.

Originally founded as a cooking oil retail business in 1958, Din Tai Fung was reborn as a steamed dumpling and noodle restaurant in 1972. Today, Din Tai Fung has branches in Japan, the United States, South Korea, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and Thailand. Din Tai Fung gives people throughout the world the opportunity to experience a classic “taste of Taiwan.”

When it comes to soup dumplings, Din Tai Fung sets the standard and there’s a reason why their restaurants often have 2+ hour wait times. Now I’m craving some Xiao Long Bao, time to go get some soup dumplings!
